National Receptionists Day was initiated in 1990 by Jennifer Alexander, the director of National Receptionists Association. The mission of National Receptionists Day is to gain awareness and appreciation for the role of receptionists in the business setting, and to provide community and support for receptionists nationwide. In 2006 "Receptionist Day" will be celebrated on May 10.
Along with material facilities preparation for the Beijing Olympic 2008, Chinese Government trained thousands of receptionists for this event. Therefore, training this large receptionist team is not less important than training other athletes who would participate in the competition. China have started to train the first 1250 girls at Changping School, on the outskirts of Beijing. This school is usually called “School of beauty”.
